How to Mount a Painting

  1. Let your painting dry completely (at least 3 days).
  2. Clean a piece of plexiglass (larger than the painting) with sponge and water.
  3. Place the painting face down on wet plexiglass, brushing it gently with a dry brush from the center outward.
  4. Paint diluted (½ glue and ½ water) Elmer’s glue onto the painting using a soft, flat brush. Work from the center outward brushing the corners last. Smooth out all wrinkles and bubbles.
  5. Place new piece of rice paper (slightly larger than painting) over the wet painting and brush with a dry brush outward from the center. Smooth out all wrinkles and bubbles.
  6. Stand plexiglass upright, cross your arms and peel the wet painting off the plexiglass from the top corner to the other top corner. Then turn the painting over, stick it to the plexiglass at the top and brush downward with a dry brush, smoothing out wrinkles and bubbles.
  7. Brush the painting edges with a little more glue if needed.
  8. Let the painting dry completely and then carefully peel the painting off the plexiglass starting from one corner.

How to Bring Chinese Brush Painting to your School or Organization

Chinese Brush Painting emphasizes the beauty of simplicity, flowing brush strokes and graceful design. Learning this art form motivates the students to observe critically, practice purposefully, express deliberately, explore creatively, compose artistically while learning to follow instructions and internalize imageries. The students will also learn color theory through loading the brushes with the three primary colors plus black and white, as well as various brush strokes and composition. See more info here.
